Basement Finishing
This project started out as an unfinished basement addition on a house. Clearview Handyman Service installed ductwork for HVAC, built the soffit to enclose the ducting, wired all electrical, installed furring strips on outer walls, insulated concrete outer walls with 1.5 inch extruded polystyrene, installed and finished drywall, installed and finished birch veneer plywood, finished and installed trim, and installed ceramic tile flooring. As a later project we came back to finish and install hardwood base trim and a raised 6 panel pine door.

Other Contractors Wouldn't Touch It
This project was a very complex and labor intensive re-roof due to multiple re-shingles and poor past construction. The house had no venting in the newest addition, no venting in the older addition, the older two sections of the home were skip sheeted and had 3 to 4 layers of shingles on them, and there were multiple holes to fill from previous chimney's and sewer vents.
We tore off all old roofing material, then sheeted the roof in plywood. Then the newest addition had a ridge vent installed and the plywood sheeting re-nailed as the nails had rusted off due to inadequate venting. The location where the new addition met the older two sections of the house had a valley that was improperly constructed and leaked from day one so we completely and properly re-built that area as can be seen in the first photo. The places where flashing was not correct were repaired and the roof shingles applied.
There was a reason other contractors wouldn't tackle this job, but Clearview Handyman Service took care of the customer, who now can rest easy with no leaks for a good 30 years. It was a lot of work but as we always say, "if you aren't going to do it right, don't do it at all"!

Repair of Storm Damaged Roof
This is a before and after picture of a garage roof that suffered extensive damage in the “big wind storm” of 2008. The garage was completely finished inside, and the truss upper members were broken down the overhang. We rebuilt the upper members of the trusses without disturbing the interior finish, replaced necessary sheathing and roofing, repaired the aluminum soffit and fascia, and installed new gutters.

Complete House Remodel and Addition
This was a major remodel/construction project on an older farmhouse. As is evident by the pictures, the house was moved off, the old basement demolished, a new basement was poured, and the house was set back on a new foundation. Next a 2 story addition was constructed and the half story second floor was framed up to a full second story. This was all completed while leaving the existing roof intact. Once the new roof was framed and shingled, along with sheathing, windows, and siding completed, the old roof was removed from inside the house.

Dressing Up Exterior of Farm Buildings
Dressing up old farm buildings is one of our specialties. This shed is an old, stick framed well shed that was given a skin of modern updates. We re-roofed the building with new, architectural shingles, installed aluminum fascia and soffit, painted the door to match the building, and installed premium pro-rib steel siding. We can clean up the look of all of your buildings while giving them a new maintenance free exterior at the same time.

Concrete Construction
This project was a concrete job for a garage and apron that was completed by Clearview Handyman Service. The garage is 36 feet by 36 feet, smooth finish, with 3 doors, and a 9 foot long center floor drain. The apron is 36 feet by 14 feet with a broom finish.

Shingling
Shingle repair and replacement is one of our specialities. This project is a house that we tore the old shingles off of, removed some old chimney penetrations, installed new vents, and re-shingled. We have a full line of equipment to handle your roofing job correctly. Shingles to steel we are your source for roof repair.

Basement Finishing
This project was a basement of a new house that had the drywall installed, taped, and textured by the original construction contractor and already had been painted by the homeowner. A plumbing leak flooded the basement and some lower drywall was removed. Clearview Handyman Service repaired the lower wall sections, installed 3 interior doors, built custom extension jambs for the doors and windows, and trimmed out the entire basement. Suspended ceilings were installed in 2 rooms to finish the project off. The attention to detail and quality craftsmanship resulted in a fantastic finished product.

Minor Drywall Repair
We can easily repair those small holes in your drywall. As you can see in the before picture there was a 6 inch by 8 inch hole in the wall where somebody did some plumbing at one point in time. As is evident by the after picture it is now completely invisible and looks as though it was never there.

Major Drywall Repair
The owner of this home had a problem with the bathroom drywall. At one point in time somebody had pulled the face paper off of the wall board exposing a horribly rough surface with no paper facing. To make matters worse the paint on the door was mostly peeled off and there was extensive dark staining on the walls and ceiling. CHS repaired the wall surfaces, sealed all of the surfaces with a sealing primer, then painted the bathroom. We also stripped and re-finished the interior of the door. These repairs were performed at a small fraction of the cost of an entire bathroom replacement and will more than pay for themselves in equity and resale value of the home. Look at these before and after pictures and you will see exactly what a change took place.

From Hay Shed to Machine Shed
This was your classic farmyard hay shed. The owner didn't use it for hay any longer and needed a building to put his tractor and combine in. Clearview Handyman Service jacked the structure back straight and plumb, installed bracing, repaired broken rafter braces, installed purlins and Pro-Rib steel, and flashed the juncture between the two buildings. Later we will come back to put some new posts in the remaining end and install a set of sliding doors. All of this done for a fraction of the cost of a new pole building. From new pole building construction to old structure repair like this CHS can help you with your farmyard projects.

Back Deck and Patio Renovation
This project was a 3 phase project to renovate an older back deck and porch. In phase one Clearview Handyman Service replaced the back door with a new, high quality, energy efficient model. For phase 2 we removed a flower bed that was next to the house and poured a concrete patio to match the existing patio in it's place. On phase 3 we demo'd the back deck, which had a lot of rot and a wheelchair ramp that the homeowner found to be very slippery in the winter, and replaced it with a new, custom built deck. With a new, updated back porch area this homeowner will get a lot more use out of the backyard.

Smaller repair projects
Here we built 2 screens for a basement crawl space and did some minor repair on a decorative windmill for the flowerbed. Proof that there really is no project too big or too small.
|
Concrete Driveway Replacement
Here is a good sized driveway that we replaced. The old apron was removed, the grade changed to eliminate a steep slope on the street end, then a new concrete pad poured.

The roof other contractors gave up on
The roof on this building had fallen inside the structure due to a combination of poor structural assembly and a wind storm. The end one-third of the roof steel was gone and the end 4 rafters had fallen in. The sidewalls were extremely crooked and one post had broken off. Other contractors told the homeowner that it was not repairable.
We removed all of the roof steel, straightened the walls, added 2X12 roof truss headers, replaced the broken post, replaced the broken roof trusses, added all of the correct roof bracing, then installed new steel on the entire roof and the missing sections of the walls.

Patio door replacement
We replaced an older, aluminum patio door with this new model on this home.
|
Front wall and door replacement
This is an old, concrete gymnasium that we removed the rotted out, improperly installed, front door and wall and replaced it with all new construction. It looks great now.
|
roofing with stucco flashing
This home had an addition built against a stucco wall and the flashing was never installed correctly. We tore off the old shingles, re-nailed the sheeting, cut a reglet flashing into the stucco wall, and re-shingled the addition.
|
Roofing at the lake
This project was a single layer tear off and replace for an insurance job. The vents were removed and their holes filled, then a ridge vent was installed for a cleaner look. The roof structure was not properly built so we removed some plywood, fixed the structure, then re-nailed the entire roof deck prior to applying new shingles.
